At Home Against Glapwell Gladiators Round 2

The Tevie boys start with an immediate attempt on goal as James N blasts the ball just wide. There’s no stopping the home team as they grab the game by the scruff of the neck and hammer down on Glapwell’s goal. Great solid teamwork from Keenan V, Kieran H, Thomas H-B and Zakarie S keep the back safe and sound and allow midfield’s Ben T, Tyler N on the left and James N on the right to cause all sorts of problems for the visitors. A super through ball from Sam H-B finds Tyler N bearing down from the right. Tyler N runs through the defenders and launches the ball right over the keeper and in it goes, great goal!. Tevie 1 Glapwell 0. The Tevie boys work as a team and create numerous chances as they put Glapwell firmly on the back foot. A lovey ball from Ben T finds James N on the left wing, James N belts down the wing and puts in a sublime cross to find Tyler N in the box. Tyler N jumps and connects like a dream with the ball and sends it into the top right corner, brilliant football. Tevie 2 Glapwell 0. Thomas H-B puts in a great stop and wins the ball. Thomas H-B plays a one two with Kieran H and sends the ball to midfields Ben T. Ben T finds Sam H-B with a great pass. Sam H-B heads for goal and shoots, the ball bounces back out to James N who blasts it just over the cross bar. Glapwell slip through on a counter attack and run at Josh E. Josh E comes out to meet the threat and clears the ball, great work by our keeper. The ball lands next to Zakarie S, he sends the ball straight to Tyler N. Tyler N drops his shoulder and bolts down the right wing. Nobody can stop him as he threads in and out of the defenders and places a beauty straight over the goalie again!! Great hat trick. Tevie 3 Glapwell 0. The lads played excellent football throughout the first half to go into the break well deserved leaders.

The second half kicks off. The Glapwell boys must have had a good talking to as they came out wanting payback. A 10 minute lapse in concentration allows Glapwell to claw two goals back as the Tevie boys attempt to weather the storm. Tevie 3 Glapwell 2. Our home boys shake themselves off and find their feet to bring the battle back to the Gladiators. Josh S goes in to win the ball and sends Tyler N running up the left wing. Tyler N spots James N in the middle running full pelt towards goal. Tyler N slots the ball to James N. James N blasts through the defence and calmly slots the ball home, super goal! Tevie 4 Glapwell 2. Great work from Ben C and Ben T prevent a counter attack and allow Tevie to regroup. The latter half of the second half proves to be a to and fro battle that creates some great football from both sides but Tevie’s hard work pays off as they bring the game to a close as worthy winners.
