Thackley travel to Armthorpe on Saturday and will be looking to get back to winning ways after a couple of home defeats. The Wellie are having a difficult time at present, accumulating just five points from sixteen matches and are currently second from bottom of the table. Armthorpe’s start to the season was obviously affected by the resignation of boss Brian Johnson in August after a string of bad results. New manager Michael Carmody has taken some time to adjust but Armthorpe have picked up in October with a victory and a very good point against Mansfield on Tuesday night.

The two teams have met on many occasions, Armthorpe having been in the Premier Division since 1985, just two seasons less than ever present Thackley. Last season honours were shared, both sides winning their respective home games.

So, Saturday’s match is likely to be a tighter affair than in looks on paper, Thackley will have to put in better performances than they have in their last two to ensure they maintain their top three position.
