Thackley travel to Scunthorpe on Saturday to play Bottesford Town. The two sides, to my knowledge, have never met before; although our Under 19’s played a cup match at Birch Park a few of years ago.

The ‘Poachers’ are currently topping the league, undefeated in the three league matches played this season. Home wins against Barton Town and AFC Mansfield, together with an away victory at Armthorpe, gives them a maximum nine points. With a goal difference of nine, they head Albion Sports and Clipstone who both are on the same number of points.
Obviously, Bottesford are likely to provide formidable opposition and the Dennyboys will need to be at their very best to get anything from the game.

I have got to say, I am looking forward to my first visit to Birch Park.
