Thackley travel to Station View on Saturday to take on Harrogate Railway Athletic looking to complete their sixth double of the season, having beaten the ‘Rail’ at Dennyfield in October. It will be Thackley’s first visit to Station View for some time, for Harrogate came back into the NCEL at the end of last season after ten years playing at the next level up. Like Thackley, they were one of the founder member clubs of the NCEL back in 1982.

Harrogate have found it rather hard going since their relegation and are currently in the bottom half of the table. They have revived recently after a pretty poor start to the season, winning three of their four matches in January. However, last Saturday they were surprisingly beaten four nil by fellow strugglers Rainworth MW at Station View. Their top scorer is Stephen Bromley with fourteen goals so far this season.

Thackley have not had the best of starts to 2017 and will be looking to get back to winning ways after dropping two points in the final minutes of last Saturday’s match against Albion Sports. There are no easy games in this league and once again a good performance will be required if Thackley want to return from Harrogate with a victory.
