For the second successive Saturday, Thackley take on Harrogate Railway at the Mitton Group Stadium at Dennyfield. This week, it is for three points rather than a place in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup and the £1500 prize money.

No need to dwell too long on last Saturday’s disappointing second half performance from Thackley, Harrogate scored more goals and therefore deserved their victory.

This mid week Thackley had a tough game at Handsworth Parramore where they fell behind early on and were never able to recover. They improved greatly in the second half and it is hoped that it will be this sort of performance that we will see from the start. The Dennyboys are still missing a couple of players on holiday and quite a few new players have been introduced into the side which always makes things a little more difficult at this time of the year. However, I am pretty sure this applies to most clubs.

Harrogate had another good result in mid week when they took all three points from their home game with Athersley Recreation. After victories in both their opening games their confidence level will be high.

Let us hope that Saturday’s encounter will be as entertaining as the previous week, spectators would love to see another seven goal thriller, Thackley, however, will be content with their first three points of the season.
