Although there has been no building work on the clubhouse for the past few months there has been various meetings between our builders, Thurrock Council Building Control and myself trying to resolve the issue of the most practical roof and cost effective which could be built at Thames. Unfortunately due to the fact that we have had three Building Control Inspectors viewing the clubhouse who no longer work for the Council each having a different interpretation of the building rules the matter can still not be resolved even after the recent visit of the Mayor of Thurrock where I made him aware of the issues stopping the completion of the clubhouse.

Obviously a decision had to be made to progress the clubhouse refurbishment so following the recent Thames RFC Ltd Board meeting it was decided to appoint Classic Design Partnership who are a firm of Chartered Surveyors to oversee the project.

This firm have already visited the clubhouse and are confident they have the expertise to resolve the issues encountered with the Council so the building work can re-commence as soon as possible.
