Welcome to Thatcham Rugby Club and our Code of Conduct
All new players are welcome. Please contact Matt Jenkins for further information or please do feel free to turn up at a training session. Training is most Sundays at 10am, please review the fixtures page to avoid disappointment.
We play in blue shirts, blue shorts and one red sock and one blue.

Players
• Play for fun & by the Rules / Laws/
• DO NOT argue with the referee
• Control your temper
• NEVER give up
• Be a good sport
• Be fair
• Improve your skill it's ok to pass the ball
• Don't be selfish
• Don't show off

Parents and Spectators
• Stay close to training / playing areas in case your child requires you
• Never force a child to play rugby
• Always remember children play rugby for their enjoyment not yours
• Encourage your child to play by the rules (often referred to as the continuum)
• Teach your child that victory isn't everything
• NEVER yell at a player for making a mistake
• Applaud good play - by either team
• Encourage your child to improve his/her skills through coaching
• Don't abuse anyone (especially the referee)

Coaches
• Be reasonable
• Teach players to play by the Rules /Laws/ Continuum
• Avoid mismatches
• DON'T favor your best players
• Never condemn
• Being coached should be fun too
• Ensure the right equipment and facilities are available and used correctly during training sessions
• Give your voice a rest from time to time
• Be generous with praise
• Good coaching means your team will run with the ball
• The Doctor knows best
• It's your players and their desire to play rugby that matters - not their lost/won record
