Club Chairman steps down after 26 years service

After 26 years with Thatcham Tornadoes, Graham Bartlett stepped down as Club Chairman this evening. A very difficult decision for Graham to make - he will be very much missed by the Committee, Managers, Coaches, Parents and players and leaves some very big shoes to fill. In recognition of all his achievements and significant contributions to the club, Graham now becomes Honourary Life President of Thatcham Tornadoes.

In addition, the club also sees Peter Walker step down from the Committee. Peter has championed our Infants School Football Festival which forms part of Thatcham Festival each October which sees around 140 children from Years 1 and 2 represent their school playing football. The good news is that Peter is still organising this years event so is not disappearing completely. In recognition of all the work Peter has contributed to Thatcham Tornadoes, he becomes an Honourary Life Member.

On behalf of everyone involved with our club, a massive thank you for everything you done for Thatcham Tornadoes.

We are delighted that Gareth Hillen (U11 Amber) has accepted the position of Chairman with David Leno (U11 Tigers) elected as VIce Chairman - both will be supported by the rest of the committee. The remaining committee were all re-elected and we are pleased to announce that they will be joined by Paul Rogers (U8 Amber) and Jon Schofield (U14 Amber) to continue Graham's legacy into the 2020s.
