The five teams representing their county FAs were: AFC Wimbledon, Highworth Grammer, Tower Hill Vixens, Rustington Raiders and Thatcham Tornadoes. The Tornadoes team were Sofia, Erin, Annabel, Bethany, Sophie, Grace and Natasha.

Tornadoes did not have the best of starts with three of our players delayed on M25, so started the first game against Wimbledon with just 4 players. Thankfully Annabel arrived soon after kick off but we were always on the back foot. Give credit to these girls - they never gave up . Thankfully we had the whole squad available for the remaining 3 games. Our second game was against Tower Hill and the girls really started to play. Tornadoes won 2-0 with Natasha scoring both goals.

Third game against Rustington and the girls hitting top gear with a 5 – 1 win with Natasha, Sophie and Grace all scoring. Our final game was against Highworth who were unbeaten so far. Tornadoes needed a win to end the day as runners up. It was a very tight game wth end to end action. Tornadoes looked the more likely to score, hitting the crossbar twice, but the game ended in deadlock at 0-0. The girls gave everything all afternoon and finished a very credible third - just 1 point off second place.

On another day, with all the girls available from the start, we could perhaps have won the event. However, all the girls really enjoyed their Futsal today and did themselves and Tornadoes proud !
