New Walking Football Sessions from Friday 6th October

St Bartholomews School Astro, Newbury
£3/session (from Nov 2017)

Ladies and Gents all very welcome to join in

Thatcham Tornadoes held its first ever Walking Football session on Friday 6th October 2017 and a great start with 10 players turning out for this first session.

The squad will continue to meet on Fridays from 7-8pm at St Barts Astro in Newbury - new players very welcome to come along and join us.

Walking Football is aimed at getting players back into football but at a slightly slower pace. We are aiming these sessions at players aged 50-ish and older.

There's no running on or off the ball, very little contact and kick-ins instead of throw-ins. There is less stress on the body and no real sudden change of direction to put undue stresses on the body.

Walking football is becoming increasingly popular across the country and is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle, as well as encouraging people back into football who have stopped due to age or injury.
