Goalkeeper Nick Jordan wants to make a name for himself with Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club

Weymouth after making it crystal clear his future belongs at the Bob Lucas Stadium. The 22-year-old’s commitment to Weymouth was severely questioned when he chose to go on a month’s loan to Blue Square Bet South neighbours Dorchester Town recently but it now appears he has every intention of staying with the Terras for the remainder of his contract at least. The Magpies offered the Terras a nominal fee for the ex-Crawley Town stopper over the weekend but any such move over the Ridgeway looks dead and buried. Jordan, who produced heroics in last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Brackley Town, said: “I am not going anywhere, I am staying put. “I went to Dorchester and got injured but since I have come back I have really begun to feel confident again and I would be silly to leave, not just to them but to anyone. “There were a few grumbles when I went up there on loan but hopefully I am starting to win those fans over again. “I want to make a name for myself down here and with the squad we now have I am confident we can go on to have a really good season.” Commenting on his performance against the Saints, Jordan added: “Like I said, it is just good to be back. Playing games is the only way you are going to improve and the fact the lads here have such huge belief in each other now is fantastic. “We have a team now and I think Saturday’s performance once again showed just how far things have come. “In the first half we froze a little bit but in the second we had a real go and on another day may have got something. “Brackley were incredibly well organised and individually they had some outstanding players. “They are far too good for this league and I have no doubts they will go up this year so the fact we ran them so close is a huge testament to the progress we have made. “It was one of the busiest games I have ever been involved in, and sometimes that can make you stand out but at the end of the day making saves is my job, and that is what I get paid to do. “Overall, I was happy with my performance but also gutted that we did not get something. “Last season we would have probably buckled in a game like that and lost by four or five so for the boys to respond the way they did in the second half was a fantastic effort.”
