Rugby Town have swooped on neighbours Long Buckby to bring in two players as manager Dave Stringer looks to complete his playing squad for next season’s promotion push in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central.

Manager Dave Stringer moved just over the county border to sign striker/winger Fazel Koriya and full-back Craig Kelly from the reigning ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division champions.

The Valley chief said: “I will be looking to get another couple in before the start of the season but having strengthened back in December and January I don’t envisage too many changes in personnel.

“Fazel and Craig fit nicely into the squad and they will be given every chance to stake a claim for a place, as will everyone else.” And there will be plenty of opportunities as Stringer has lined up eleven friendlies, including four home matches against good quality sides in Brackley Town, Oxford City, Solihull Moors and Banbury United.

He added: “There will be numerous triallists I shall be looking at but the established lads will be saved mainly for the better-quality opponents.”
