Possession soon went to the visitors but once Thirsk woke up, the momentum of the game quickly changed. Thirsk were awarded the first short corner of the match and then proceeded to score but regretfully it was disallowed. Thirsk battled hard and displayed impressive stick work. A great open opportunity was created and Cathryn Barret did what she does best and opened up the scoring! The game progressed with Boston giving glimpses of why they are unbeatable but the Thirsk girls held on to the lead!
Second half saw an opportunity for Thirsk to capitalise again on an open goal and Megan Allen swept though their D to claim a beautifully ladylike goal for the home team. Thirsk spirits where rocking but Boston Spa kicked into over drive. Using their experience they maximised the rule book to their advantage! Going on to score a text book short corner. They meant business and within minutes they had scored again! With the score at two all it was now a question of who wanted it more! Possession went to the home team when sadly the game was stopped for 5 minutes injury time.
Both teams fought hard to the end and despite some spectacular defending from Marianne and Grace Boston managed to obtain a third goal. With the final score at 2 - 3 Thirsk could not help but be disappointed in the result after they battled so hard and played so fairly. Mom was awarded to Megan for her beautiful goal.
