Thirsk’s Men’s 2nd team travelled to York hoping that with their regular team out, they could get back to winning ways, also included in the line-up was veteran Patrick Hunt. It only took two minutes to open the scoring as Arthur Hunt was put through by Otis Williams, who finished confidently. The lead was doubled shortly after, as Tom Westgate put away Oliver Houseman’s cross. By half time, Thirsk had extended the lead to 5-0, with Arthur claiming all three further goals.
In the second half the rolling substitutions were frequent, but it did not disrupt the fluency of the passing playing. Thirsk added six more goals with two for Mark Patterson from penalty corners, and one each for Trevor Bosomworth, Oliver, Arthur and veteran Andrew Young, who took his chance particularly well. Final score York 0-11 Thirsk.
