Another point brings the total to 7, but wins are still needed.

Saturday saw the men's thirds at home against Tadcaster Magnets 2nd team, straight from the start of the game it was clear that it was going to be a close game with both teams creating chances. The midfield of Louie, Liam, Ben and Ken moving the ball around well and then working their way forward getting the ball to the attack of Joseph and Sean who were keeping the Tadcaster defence busy and working well together to create chances to score. Both coming extremely close but not finding the net. At the other end Tadcaster were creating a lot of pressure but the defence of Chris, Sam, Rob and Mike were doing a brilliant job of keeping the Tadcaster attack at bay, but after a lot of pressure they managed to score making it 0-1. After the Tadcaster goal we became more determined and put pressure on the Tadcaster defence and it paid of when Ben passed the ball forward that Sean dummied and Joseph picked up at the top of the D and struck the ball first time which ended up in the bottom corner making it 1-1 and that was how the first half ended. In the second half it was more of the same with both teams keeping up the pressure unluckily for us they were the ones to capitalise first making it 1-2. After the goal Tadcaster kept the pressure up, but after a lot of defending we managed to counter attack and won a short corner from which Liam struck at goal hitting a Tadcaster defender's foot on the line and won us a penalty stroke which he calmly slotted nicely into the right hand side of the goal making it 2-2. In the dying minutes of the game, Ben at center half, tried to make a tackle and got hit in the side of the head; fortunately he was not seriously injured. The game ended 2-2. I would like to thank Johnny Scaling for umpiring.
