The visiting Bridlington ladies give Thirsk a determined opposition.

The weather was against us again, this week torrential rain beginning just in time for our match to start. We knew this was going to be a tough match as Bridlington had been moving up the table. In the first 5 minutes when the team were just starting to settle down we went down 1-0. Thirsk determined not to lose managed to get a goal back in the next 5 minutes scored by Sophie Lake after a terrific run down the right wing. The momentum shifted after that as Thirsk started passing well and posting up to the ball resulting in a goal for Eliza Dwyer crossed in by Sophie again after a great run from the half way line.
However Bridlington were not going to give up easily and got a goal just after half time. After the team talk at half time and a conversation about reading the game finally kicking in Thirsk came back with a much stronger half scoring a further 3 goals from Fran Houseman and two from Gina Garnett.
This was a game full of determination from everyone and we battled hard for every ball with a score that reflects this. A special mention to Helen King who saved numerous goals and received player of the match.
