Away at Pocklington for an early start did not stop Thirsk from gaining another 3 points, from a team above them in the table.

Thirsk ladies made a strong start to the match keeping possession and looking like a team with great confidence, despite the challenging weather. Opting for a new formation Thirsk displayed good team work with quick passing and were rewarded with an early goal against Pocklington.
Pocklington threatened with strong hits, slipping the ball through midfield and into Thirsk’s defence, but Marianne in goal made some good saves and the defence cleared the ball well. Working the ball back into Pocklington’s half, sharp passing and fast runs resulted in a second goal for Thirsk. Just before half time, however, Pocklington came back and made it Thirsk 2, Pocklington 1.
A half-time talk from Jo Lightfoot kept Thirsk focused and the second half started positively with the new formation staying strong and the ladies kept possession. With lots of movement off the ball Thirsk broke through Pocklington’s defence and scored a third goal.
Whilst Pocklington threatened they were not successful in scoring a second goal, Thirsk kept cool heads and as the full time whistle blew were pleased with a great team effort and a final score of 3-1.
