Thoresby continue to be the only unbeaten side in the whole of the Central Midlands league after a rollercoaster ride at Kiveton Park this afternoon. New signing Ollie Chappell made his debut in the middle of the park. The first 30 minutes saw a lack-lustre Thoresby second best which culminated in a fine volley by Carl Longmore giving the hosts the lead. The visitors hit back straight away but saw a Gary Panting penalty well saved by the home keeper. Within a minute some fine build up play (on a shocking pitch) saw Lewis Bingham equalise for the visitors. The second half was dominated by Thoresby with Mason, Adcock and Chappell all going close, but the visitors looked liked their missed chanches were going to haunt them as a defelected shot off Chris Dyson past Simon Smith looked like all 3 points had eluded Thoresby, but the sign of a good team is when it's down and the boys in blue went straight down the other end and saw a Gavin King header richochet into the net off a defender. Manager Lee Tryner commented " At the end of the day it's an hard earnt point. I thought we were poor for the majority of the first half but did really well for the rest of the game as Kiveton are a tough team to play against and their pitch doesn't help us at all. I have just had a look at today's results and to still be unbeaten is a great achievement and i feel that there are certain people who need to take a reality check and remember what a mess this club was in only a couple of years ago and enjoy this Thoresby side as it's took a lot of hard work to assemble" Thoresby line up: Smith, Dyson, Buchanan, Chappell, Mason, Shaw, Adcock, Tryner, King, Panting, Bingham. subs: Green, Ingram, Fountain.
