Gloucestershire were well-beaten by a Kent Women side that was experienced and well-drilled having benefited from many more training sessions than Gloucestershire. Kent, who were semi-finalists in the Gill Burns Women’s County Championship last season, won 60-12.

The match was played on the new 3G pitch at the new Dings Crusaders’ ground at Shaftesbury Park, Frenchay.

Thornbury’s heroines battled away from the first minute to the last, and Sadie showed good leadership to prevent the heads of her team going down. But despite the defeat she, Laura and Bobbie can be proud of their county debuts.
