Seventeen of Thornbury’s twenty-three First Team captains were in attendance on Saturday March 30th as Thornbury celebrated their fiftieth season of rugby. Only five of the surviving captains were unable to attend the day. The seventeen in attendance saw a match featuring a Thornbury team which included eleven captains led by current skipper George Maggs. The Thornbury team defeated an Old Colstonians XV 73-26.
