Thorne Bounce Back With Home Win

Thornenesians bounced back from their heavy defeat to Goole to defeat Leodiensians at home by 31-11. Thornensians went into the lead through a rare try by consistent second row Rob Raper but slow Thorne defence allowed Leos to reply soon after with a try of their own. 5-5 after 10 minutes. The returning James Fenwick in the back row and hooker Chris Hewitt were both lively in the loose, Fenwick held up over the line. Second row Tom Hughes injured 31st minute, player coach Neal Dunne comes on. Following excellent passing Thorne winger Ross Haley scorched in for a try from a move begun 60 yards out. Thorne's pack bossed the scrums and the loose rucks. Fenwick marks return to first team action with a deserved try in the 33 rd minute, stand off Rob Brown covnverts . Half-time Thorne 17- Leos 5. Leos commanded territory in first 10 minutes, converting a penalty as Dunne was sin-binned, 17-8 to Thorne.
