After going 2 goals down in the first 15 minutes due to poor defending,Thornes fought back well, and after 30 minutes a well worked move released striker Alex Bailey Lee who calmly drove the ball home from short range.
The equaliser came when midfield powerhouse Luke Mcgrath found room in the penalty area and shrugged off two challenges before driving the ball home to level the scores.
Thornes took the lead after the interval when Eddie Morton expertly drove a free kick past the stranded keeper from the edge of the box and a fourth was added 5 minutes later when Luke McGrath rose highest at the far post to head home.
Eddie Morton added a fifth when he forced his way through a packed defence and slid the ball into the corner to make the final score 5-2.
Newstrack Newsagents man of the match went to Alex Bailey Lee and Eddie Morton who were outstanding. Luke Mcgrath and Ethan Harrison also excelled in a game well marshalled from the back by skipper for the day Callum Harnell and David Rushton.
Newcomer Will Cave also performed very well in his home debut in a fantastic team performance.
