Leeds City Boys 6-3 Thornes Juniors

Thornes went to Leeds expecting a tough game at last years league runners up. Leeds started well and took an early lead. Thornes responded with a Kieran Lawn goal. Leeds were applying pressure to the Thornes goal, keeper Aaron Hill keeping them at bay with a number of fine saves. Thornes kept going, and took the lead when Luther Ndebele fired past the Leeds keeper from a rebound.

Jack Hudson had the chance to extend Thornes lead, beating the keeper from outside the box, but his shot came back off the crossbar. Leeds levelled the score before half time, there was all to play for in the second half.

Both teams pushed forward in the second half, but it was the home side who struck a blow with two quick fire goals. Thornes didn't give up and a chipped pass from Cory Bedford found Joe Eyre. He played the ball through to Kieran Lawn, who sprinted through to score his second goal of the game. Thornes had other chances but couldn't convert to get back into the game, Leeds played well and scored two more goals to make the final score 6-3.

The Lala's Man Of The Match was awarded to Goal Keeper Aaron Hill for the number of excellent saves he made.
