TC 2's travel to Blackburn for a tough away fixture

This Saturday sees TCRUFC 2's make the short trip to Blackburn. The 2's are in fine form having won 8 out of their last 10 games. Blackburn as always will prove stiff opposition as they sit just 1 place below Thornton in 6th place.

As usual this year TC name a strong side even with skipper Jamie Beecher injured. In Jamie's absence ever present Sean Donnelly will lead the team from fly half.
In the front row Matt Smiles starts alongside Rob Fallows at hooker and Raj Hutchingson. In the second row Tom Bailey is unlucky to miss out on 1st team selection where he has been excellent all year. He is partnered by "try machine" Baz Tucker. The back row is an exceptional unit with powerhouse Neil Wright on the blindside. Mike Docherty takes the 7 shirt and will be keen to regain his place in the 1st team. They are joined by the evergreen Pete Rae at 8.

In the backs Jack McFarlane takes keeps hold of his 9 shirt after some exceptional performances. The centres have more than a touch of experience and guile in the shape of Dan Powell and Dave Snelson. The team is completed by speedster Pat Meehan on one wing, Clint Roscoe on the other and our very own ginger assassin Rick Brown at full back.

The bench sees the return on a former 1st XV vice captain in the shape of Tony Newton. He is joined by Niall Crane, Wayne Daws Dan Cooper and Big George Wilson. Blackpool and fylde college winger Adam Hagan completes the line up.

As the season has progresses its easy to see that we are developing a real strength in depth at the club. Something that pleases me no end and gives the selectors plenty of the good type of headaches.

Meet time is 11.45. Please be prompt.

Good luck fellas, I'lll see you in the Ashley for celebratory pint.

Low and Hard
