This weekend will see Thornton field 3 teams at home for the first time in a fair few seasons. Those who are regulars down at the Windmill ground will probably notice that causes a small problem in the shape of we only have 2 pitches. Our friends at Blackpool Stanley Rugby League club have very kindly offered their pitch and club house facilities at Kingcote Park. This is a continuation of the mutual support that has begun between the two clubs. Through the summer many a TC player could be found playing rugby league for Blackpool Stanley and this weekend there are Blackpool Stanley players littered throughout each of the 3 TC teams most notably Stanley Coach Tommy Hibburt and Captain Joe Connell for the 1st XV. Thornton would like to thank everyone at Blackpool Stanley for their help with loaning the pitch and look forward to working together in the future for the improvements of both clubs.

So if you are not at the Ba Ba lunch at the Ashley and cant make it to the Windmill to watch the 1st and 2nd team, then why not head downn to Kingscote Park and cheer on the 3rds as they take on local rivals Fylde.
