This weekend sees the return of our annual Robbie Mckendrick Memorial Super 10s. We play the 10s every year to remember our former player and friend Robbie.

This year we decided to move the event to May in order to try and attract teams of a higher calibre. This years competition will see 6 teams battling for the trophy. Thornton Cleveleys will be entering 1st and 2nd team squads. We will be joined by former rugby powerhouse of the north Orrell. Orrell are a club back on the up and ply their trade in the South Lancashire division of our 1st teams league. Local "senior" club Fylde are sending a side down. The local bookies has been taking bets on which side Fylde will send. No matter who wears the Fylde shirt, we know they will be a force in this competition. Kirby Lonsdale are making the long trip down from the Lakes. Kirby have had an exceptional season finishing in 2nd in North One West, 2 leagues above our league so will be a real test for all other sides. The line up is completed with a Barbarian side, this side will predominately be made up of Thornton players and any players from other teams that fancy a game.

Along with the feast of rugby on display there will be a burger van selling all your favourite fast foods, an Ice Cream Van as well as beverages for the very thirsty. The booze mountain raffle will be the 2nd most coveted prize of the day and tickets for this will be selling fast.

I personally can not wait, you'll find me either buying as many burgers as I can afford, or selling as many dummys as I can on the pitch.
