On the final night of this years touch competition Mahers Magicians had the title all wrapped up before a game had been played. In the 3 years that the Magicians have entered the competition they are yet to lose a game, although the Ralphitoes came close last week with a 3-3 draw.
The race for second was very evenly contested. Fleetwood, Scorpions and Ralphitoes all had the chance to finish as runner up.
The first round saw the Ralphitoes lose to the Magicians, Scorpions brushed aside Walkabout, where as Fleetwood could only manage a 3-3 draw with Team Ginge. This essentially put them out of the race.
Fleetwood then recorded a victory over the Scorpions which put a big dent in Scorpions challenge. In round 3 the Ralphitoes escaped wiith a narrow win over Scorpions. After this all results went as expected.

So having said that the final league standings are
1) Mahers Magicians 109 pts
2) SS Ralphitoes 89 pts
3 Scorpions 80 pts
4) Fleetwood 76 pts
5) Team Ginge 53 pts
6) Garstangabout 29 pts
7) TC Bar Bars 27 pts

The level of skill on display by all teams was exceptional as was the sportsmanship and spirit which the tournament was played in.

I'd firstly like to thank all that refereed the games, Albert, Dave, Branni and Beecher. Also a big thank you to all that came and took part. More than anything I hope you enjoyed it.
We look forward to welcoming you all next season and see who can knock the Magicians off the top spot.
