WEEKEND ROUND-UP

WEEKEND ROUND-UP image

All Thornton's games on Saturday were cancelled as were all other NOWIRUL fixtures due to the weather. This gave players chance to keep warm and hone their drinking skills whilst watching some Six Nations action.

However, next weekend it's back to Cup action weather permitting.
The 1st team travel to De la Salle in the Raging Bull cup, dependant on Salfordian weather whilst the 2nds host Macclesfield 4ths.

Thornton-Cleveleys 1st XV hope to extend their unbeaten run however they must conquer a side that they lost to twice last season, De la Salle 2nds who play currently play in the league above and have only lost at home twice this season.
It's probably the first time this season that Thornton 1sts are the underdogs but hopefully this will take any pressure of the side and good rugby form will prevail - as it has been stated that some of the rugby quality on show this season has been worthy of the league above, maybe even 2 leagues above what we're playing, it's our chance to prove it.

Macclesfield 4s are flying high in Div 5 South and they have only lost 2 games away in the league - both by just 2 points! This indicates that they are to give Thornton one heck of a game.

So fingers crossed the snow and frost stay away! Regardless of the above, the bar will be open for the Italy v England 6 Nations game at 4pm, so get yourself down to TCRUFC where there will hopefully be something to cheer about.
