9. Bill Litchfield


Bill Litchfield came to play for Thrumpton Cricket Club from Eastwood Town in the early 90's. Bill was a talented opening batsman who could always be heard telling club members that he was the best deliverer of the "cover drive" in the club. He never missed playing for the club in the cricket season and was a 2 games a weekend player. Scoring numerous centuries he was the scourge of bowlers hardly ever giving a chance. In his later days he took up golf and his Saturdays then became a round of golf in the morning followed by 40 overs in the afternoon. The perfect ending.
