Rules & Constitution
2.The object of the club is to provide facilities for and promote participation of the whole community in the sport of cricket
3.The financial year of the club shall end on the 31st October each year
4.The Annual General Meeting shall be held within 8 weeks of the end of the financial yearat which meeting shall be elected: President, Vice Presidents, Honorary General Secretary, Honorary Treasurer,Honorary Auditors, Honorary Fixture Secretary,, The Club Captains, and Vice Captains (one for each team), the Club Committee.
5.The Officers of the club shall retire annually and be elegible for re-election.
6.The Club Committee shall consist of the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixture Secretary, Captains of each team, Youth Representatives, Club Welfare Officer, Kwik/Youth Parent Representative, Webmaster and co-opted Club Members (these will be elected annually at the Clubs AGM). If an Officer holds more than one position other Club Members will be added to the committee up to and not exceeding a maximum number of 20.
7.All members should have been in Club Membership for at least 2 years before standing for a Committee position.
8.The Club Committee shall have the power to form Sub-Committees as are required and onto these have the power to co-opt members as well as fill casual vacancies.
9.The Club Committee shall meet as required with 5 members forming a quorum. The Officers shall be entitled to attend meetings of all Sub-Committee meetings.
10.Sub_Committees shall supply minutes of all their meetings to the Club Committee.
11.The Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer shall present Annual Reports to the Clubs AGM together with Audited accounts of the Club.
12.The Annual Subscription and Match Tax shall be fixed at the AGM or at any Extraordinary General Meeting.
13.The Bankers?Building Society of the Club shall be arranged by the Honorary Treasurer and the Auditors in consultation with the committee. Cheques shall be signed by the Honorary Treasurer and countersigned by one or two approved Club Committee members.
14.The Commitee shall be authorised to incur expenditure on the day to day running of the Club. Any proposal to enter into a contract for hire purchase, loan or lease shall not be authorised except by resolution put at the AGM or an EGM called for that purpose.
15.Any 3 Club Committee members shall call a Committee meeting( through the Club Secretary) to examine the conduct of any member.
16.No alteration shall be made to these Rules except by a majority of two thirds of those members present and eligible to vote at The AGM or EGM called for that purpose,. Notice for any such meeting must be given to the Honorary Secretary at least 28 days before such a meetingby no more than 30 members or one fifth of club membership (whichever is the less).
17.Voting rights of the club. They should be 16 years of age or over and full paying members who are eligible to pay a full subscription or a Committee member, shall be allowed to vote. Life Members, Vice Presidents as well as Associate Members will be allowed to vote on all matters except playing matters Members will have only one vote to any motion. The Chairman to rule on any query to what is playing/Club matters.
18.Anyone desirous of becoming a member of the Club shall make an application before the Committee. Membership shall be open to all irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social status and sexual orientation. Membership of the club shall be deemed to include agreement to be bound by the rules. There is to be a 5 day gap between nomination for and admission to membership of the Club. The Club may refuse membership or expel from membership only for good and sufficient cause, such as conduct or character likely to bring the Club or Sport into disrepute. Appeal against such a decision may be made to the Clubs members and decided by a majority vote.
19.The Club will issue a list of club members each year in the Club's Fixture Booklet at the start of each season and the Treasurer will draw up a list of Club Members who have paid their subscription by the date set and put them to the Committee for acceptance. The list will be posted on the Club notice board.
20.The income and property of the Club shall be applied solely towards promoting the Club,s objects as set forth in this constitution and no portion shall thereof shall be paid or transferred, directly or indirectly, to the Members of the Club.
21.The Club Committee holds the power to provide the the purchase and supply of intoxicating liquor and 2 members of this Committee to have responsibility for this.
22.No member shall receive commission on the purchase of alcohol.
23.Club members or their guests must be 18 years of age to purchase or be supplied with alcohol. A Visitors book is provided for visiting team players and friends watching cricket, which is to be signed by a Club Member.
24.Not withstanding anything afforementioned intoxicating liquor may be supplied by the Club Committee to members and non-members attending the club when functions are permitted by the Club Committee. This section is subject to the following provisions: a) The function is an event of the Cricket Club: b) The function is promoted by and the responsibility of a member of the Club Committee who is present at the function: and c) The number of functions shall be limited to eight in any one year; and d) The money raised is not for personal gain under any circumstances.
25.In the event of dissolution of the Club, any assets remaining after the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall not be paid or distributed among the members of the Club, but shall be given or transferred to one or more of the following approved sporting or charitable bodies: 1) Registered Charitable Organisations: 2) Another Club which is registered CASC: 3)The sports national governing body for use by them for related community sports.
26.A copy of these rules shall be posted on the Club notice board as well as a copy in the Clubs minute book.
27.Child Protection. Awareness and Procedures for all adults involved in cricket for children and young people are in place, in accordance with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reccommendations.
28.A non-smoking policy has been adopted by the club in accordance with the law.
