A general meeting was held in the village hall on Friday 12th October 1973 in the presence of 23 members. The chair was taken by Mr R Anderson in the absence of the Club President Mr G Seymour.

The meeting opened with the announcement that Mr E Chettle wished to resign as Secretary and Mr R Priestley was then elected as the secretary for the forthcoming year.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and voted to be a correct record.. The Treasurer then read out his report. Arising from this it was noted that the club had not been able to repay £100 to Mr G Seymour as had been arranged at the last meeting but only £40. It was then resolved to pay £30 this year against the £235 still outstanding.

The Officials for the next year were elected as follows. Mr G Seymour was unanimously re elected as President and a vote of thanks was passed for his support for the club over the past year. Mr S Shaw decided to continue as Treasurer and the meeting expressed their thanks to him for his work over the last year.

The meeting then unanimously voted Mr E Chettle as a Life Member of the club and sincere thanks were expressed for all his work and long service to the club which had extended over 49 years.

The captains were then elected for the new season as follows

Saturday Captain Mr R Chettle

Sunday Captain Mr R Pick

Evening League Mr G Shaw

Vice Captain Mr G Shaw

The committee was then elected. Mrs L Pick once again agreed to continue as scorer and a vote of confidence was passed for her work throughout the season and on the averages for 1973. The Umpires also agreed to continue for next season and a vote of confidence was passed for them.

The averages for the 1973 season were then read as above. It was noted that Mr R Pick attained over 1000 runs for the 3rd consecutive year.

Whist Drives. Syndicates were arranged for the running of the Whist Drives.

Raffles. Mr G Shaw suggested that a raffle be run at each home game during next season.. It was resolved that the raffles should be run by two different members each home match and that a rota be put up in the pavilion at the beginning of the season.

Annual Dinner. It was suggested that a committee be set up to organise the dinner and Mr and Mrs Hickling and Mr and Mrs R Priestley agreed to form a committee. A vote of thanks was passed for those who organised last years, especially as a profit odf some £10 was made. The guests for the next dinner were agreed as Mr and Mrs Seymour and Mr and Mrs Culley.

AOB. The servicing of the mower and the work to be done on the ground and the pavilion were arranged. A Vote of thanks was passed to Mr R Priestley for the use of his tractor for the outfield.

The meeting was closed with a vote of thanks for Mr R Anderson for taking the chair.
