3 x Life Memberships awarded

Thrumpton Cricket Club are delighted to announce that lifetime memberships have been awarded to 3 members for services to the club.

At the committee meeting a proposal was put forward to award life memberships to 3 members and the club are happy to announce that all 3 participants have accepted.

Linda Gant has accepted partly for the dedicated work of her late husband Dave and partly for the determination to fulfil Daves wishes in raising much needed funds to enhance Youth development at the club.

John Dewsbury now retired from playing also served the club with both the bat and and behind the stumps as wicketkeeper. At the age of 60+ the sprightly keeper could still be seen preventing wayward balls going down the leg side. John spent many hours working on the wicket.

Harry Pick was the scourge of batsmen around the area for many a year taking many a wicket. He once took 10 wickets in an innings and was quite useful with the bat scoring three figures in an evening league game. He is also the club official umpire.

As well as ex Secretary Ivan Adkin and ex Chairman Ron Priestley this now takes the total to 5 life members. It is hoped that on the night of the Annual Presentation that all 5 will be attending for a group photograph
