On a Carribbean weekend both the 1st team and 2nds plus the Sunday XI toiled under the hot sun

Stars of the weekend were both Dominic Thelen and Jonty Rye who scored 81 and 85 respectively. The first century of the season is knocking on the door with one of the growing bunch of teenagers topping the betting list at Ladbrokes to be the first to get there.

The first eleven went to Long Whatton and could only score 145 runs. Arpan Desai once again held the Innings together scoring 56. The Long Whatton openers easily knocked them off in 27.1 overs. Full scorecard can be seen in Seniors section.

Better news for the 2nd X! who scored a creditable 195 beating Ruddington by 27 runs who could only muster 168. Photographs downloaded with match report to follow. Photographs show Dominic Thelen applauded after scoring a classical 81 runs and umpire Steve Pepper concerned that captain Mark Sampson is feigning injury and attempting to doctor the popping crease.

In todays game Mount Sorrell won the toss and scored freely making 263 for 9 in 40 overs. Thrumpton could only reply in their allotted overs with 162-6 despite a heroic knock of 85 by captain Jonty Rye. Scoreboard can be seen in the Senior section
