Leicester Nirvana continued their unbeaten start to the season by securing a 4-2 win away at Desborough.

Nirvana were looking to continue their good form at the start of the season when they travelled to Desborough on Tuesday night. The hosts themselves were looking to continue a hundred percent record at home.

The game started well with both sides looking to get the ball down and play. On 18 minutes Nirvana drew first blood. A ball from Ash Day was intended for Morris however the home keeper just got their first but could only divert the ball to Nassorwho finished with aplomb clipping the ball over the keeper into the empty net for 25 yards.

Nirvana then went into overdrive slick passing and irresistible movement saw them carve out a number of good chance with the front two a particular threat. The next goal however came from an unlikely source in the form of Lynch. The midfielder was picked out with a delightful cross from the right from A.Day and headed into the far corner for his first goal for the club.

Nirvana quickly made it three. Keeping possession of the ball with ease Nirvana then quickened the tempo and a ball from Doy which the Desborough keeper failed to clear was finished by Morris to continue his excellent goalscoring form.

Desborough did not give up however and Harris in the Nirvana goal had to make two outstanding saves before the break to keep his sides three goals advantage intact.

Desborough began the second half with a renewed purpose and threated to get back into the game on numerous occasions. The breakthrough came when a cross from the right was converted by Bettles at the far post.

Nirvana were clearly rattled and Desborough were quickly to within one goal from parity. A refereeing error (to which was later admitted) allowed the Desborough winger to escape down the right and play in Dean who finished well under heavy pressure.

At this point the game was in the balance and Desborough continued to threaten. Nirvana had to dig deep to maintain their lead. On 92 minutes they managed to get the goal that ultimately sealed the game. Another ball from Doy found Nelson upfield The 17 year old striker still had a lot to do but managed to hold off the defender and smash the ball into the far corner.

In patches Nirvana were outstanding in this display. However they will have to make a better job of playing with the required intensity for the full 90 minutes.

Man of the Match – Plenty of strong performers however the award goes to Aaron Harris. Two outstanding saves at the end of the first half which it turned out were of huge importance.
