Young Dockers go down to a 3-1 defeat

Tilbury Youth 1 Barnet Youth 3 Att 96

A sterling second half performance by the young Dockers side was not enough to see them past a good Barnet side in the 1st qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup. Tilbury took the lead on 18 when Charlie Spalding hit home after Barnet keeper Jack Ryan dropped the ball. Barnet equalised on 24 when Emmanuel Keyo scored after a great run. On the half hour a ball into the box saw the unlucky Johnson chip into his own net. After the break good play from both Spalding and Duarte who both caused concerns in the Barnet defence as the Dockers created numerous chances. Late on the game Tilbury made substitutions and went all out attack and in the final seconds Barnet broke away and Ryan Gordon turned in the box to score.

Manager James Imber was delighted with the work rate from the whole squad and is looking forward to more cup action next Thursday when they welcome Redbridge in the Lucas Fettes Youth cup with a 7.45 pm kick off.
