Romford 1 Tilbury 1 (Attendance 88) 2 late goals from the spot decide a 1-1 draw with Romford.

Local rivals Romford and Tilbury shared the points with a penalty a piece in an uninspiring game at Ship Lane on Saturday. Paul Vaughan did have players back at his disposal from recent injuries, looking to halt run of 4 consecutive losses. Danny Aldwinckle also made his first start for the club on his 19th birthday.

The first chance of the game came on 6 minutes when Oates fired over. Tilbury had a very good chance on 12 when Babalola crossed for Aldwinckle who headed wide.

On the half hour Richardson's volley was brilliantly saved by Ramos. On half time Danny Jones had another volley that went close.

On 61 Tilbury had a good shout for a penalty when Babalola was brought down in the box, but was not given by the uncited referee.

Tilbury made chances late in the game as they chased the 3 points, including a first start for Mitchell Gilbey who is on loan from East Thurrock United. Runs by Weemes and Francis started to cause concern in the home defence.

Tilbury were eventually rewarded with 6 minutes remaining when a high cross in from Waters saw Sam West bundled over in the box unfairly and the referee awarded a penalty. Substitute Lee Weemes slotted home.

With Romford chasing the game, they pushed hard and a good run through with a minute to go saw Romford awarded their own penalty and Paul Clayton hit down the middle to equalise.

From the kick off Ashton hit wide before a great chance for Lee Weemes who was sent through by Cutler and saw his dink over the keeper cleared off the line.

After the game manager Paul Vaughan said "A fair result for the two sides. It was nice to stop the poor run with a point. The result sees Tilbury remain in 13th. On Saturday Tilbury welcome leaders VCD to Chadfields. - 3.00pm kick off.
