On a cool evening, the Dockers went down to a goal in each half by a well composed East Thurrock side.
The visitors started strongly as they were awarded a penalty in the 14th minute but the tame effort was comfortably held by Mickey Green. However, 3 minutes later, Koranteng hit a low and hard shot into the net to open the scoring. East Thurrock continued to press Tilbury and limited the time they had on the ball. The Dockers showed promising signs but lacked a final pass. Both sides made changes and on 80, a well-hit strike was parried by the keeper into the path of Eagles who slotted it in to double the scoreline.
Tilbury start the season at Home to Witham Town on Saturday at 3:00pm.
