Young Dockers dominate to take all three points

Tilbury’s young reserve side were back in action against Hullbridge Sports with a host of changes from the last few weeks. Due to the pending youth cup tie v Stevenage, Mick Jacobs left out captain Ben Crooks, Mitch Curran, Ryan Blackman, Joe Obersteller and Joe Christou

The Dockers started the game full of confidence and with some slick passing made a host of chances falling to Casum Tiffin, Chris Taylor, Jon Atmore and Michael Knight who all failed to convert early on. On the 20 minute mark, it was Casum Tiffin who opened the scoring with a well taken goal from the edge of the box. Tiffin had a chance to score when he hit the bar from a long range effort. The midfield of Charlie Tricker, Jake Fry, Jon Atmore & Michael Knight worked hard and didn’t give Hullbridge a chance to get there passing game going. In the 35th minute Cassim Tiffin scored his second from close range after a good series of passing.

The back for of Jake Pooley, Ryan Plom , David Leech & Luke Pitty totally dominated anything Hullbridge tried to put together.

The second half was all one way traffic and it was only time before Tilbury would score again. On 50 Bradley Webb replaced Michael Knight & Jack Wilson-Jones replaced Jon Atmore. The changes made a impact seeing Chris Taylor latch on to a Wilson-Jones through ball to score his first of the game. The pace of Wilson-Jones was causing a real problem and Hulbridge struggled to deal with him. Hullbridge by this time were only offering a long ball to threaten the young Dockers’ which Skipper Jake Pooley and Ryan Plom easy dealt with. With 15 minutes to go Ben Smith was introduced for Casum Tiffin. Smith made an immediate impact when a short series of passing saw Chris Taylor burst into the box to be fouled. It was Taylor who coolly scored the penalty.

Mick Jacobs Said after the game

“Today’s game could of been so different on paper, we rested many players who had previously been part of the set up. The players that stepped in, did a great job. This will give me a selection headache for the next game. The back four lead by Pooley were outstanding and never looked in any danger at any stage of the game. We are in good shape we are looking for a well deserved week off next week. Our next game is on Saturday 12th November 2pm against Grays Athletic
