East Thurrock United 2 Tilbury 4 Att 127

Tilbury made progress to the 4th Round of the Essex Senior Cup with a 4-2 victory over neighbours East Thurrock United at Rookery Hill on Tuesday night.

Goals came from Conor Mead, Alex Read, Harry Cook and Bradley Barnes.

East Thurrock rested most of there first team due to the pending FA Cup tie and played a number of youngsters and gave the Dockers some scares during the second half.

Tilbury were in front on 10 minutes when Alex Read played in Conor Mead who stabbed home. Worrell almost made it 2 on 12 when he headed wide from a Demetriou free kick.

On 15 it was 2-0 when Harry Cook played in Alex Read to score. With Tilbury dominating, Cook headed on the the bar on 35. On 39 Jamie Riley a fine double save from Paul King, but a minute later when Aiken beat 2 players down the right before crossing for the on rushing Cook to get his foot to the ball and over the line. On half time the Rocks pulled a goal back when Jake Cass hit a fine shot home. Tilbury still had the upper hand in the 2nd half and Cook nearly scored from a mix up. On 72 East Thurrock continued to push and were rewarded when Cass crossed and Lewis Scott tapped home, this was after James Marrable made a fine save from Ben Middlemas. With 5 minutes remaining, Substitute Tom Webb brought off an outstanding save by Riley. With 2 minutes to go, Tilbury confirmed there place in Round 4 when Tom Wraight crossed and Bradley Barnes fired home.

Tilbury have a weekend off due to Redbridge's continued progress in the FA Cup.
