A youthful Docker side earn a deserved draw against AFC Sudbury with Ryan Blackman supplying the only goal.

AFC Sudbury 1-1 Tilbury ATT: 93

Tilbury earned a point in their third game in five days against an unchanged AFC Sudbury side on Wednesday night.

On a bitterly cold night in Suffolk, Tilbury rang the changes giving Bradley Webb and Ryan Blackman their first starts for the club and gave debuts to academy players Matt Keiller and Dominic Goggin. Tilbury also welcomed back Tony Jacobs and Aaron Waters to the side, but both players had to be substituted due to new injury's.

Tilbury made a bright start with some good play from Aiken. On 19 Ryan Blackman hit a rasping shot that was well saved. On 29 Sudbury's David Cowley freekick hit the underside of Driscoll's bar and away for safety. Within seconds Ingram ran into the box and was adjudged to have been pushed by Waters and the referee pointed to the spot. Ingram scored low to Driscoll's right hand post. 4 minutes later Emiel Aiken had to be substituted, but this did not deter the Dockers and they drew level on 38 when Wraight crossed, Jack Carlile shot before the ball fell to Blackman to hit home. Just before the break Antione went close for the home side.
After the break the Dockers again started brightly with a Crooks header cleared off the line from a Wraight cross.
Cowley continued his good runs down the left giving Webb a tough time and Cowley had a good effort on 54. Crooks was again denied on 65 when Curtler's corner was again cleared off the line. On 70 Tilbury had another enforced substitution when Waters made way for Goggin. Towards the end the match the game lacked clear cut chances with the exception of Tom Cutts who almost stole the points with a good header.

After the game Assistant Manager, Paul Joynes said: "It was a good point earned by a young side. We drafted in some academy boys and they did well"

On Saturday, Tilbury travel to playoff hopefuls, Thamesmead Town, with a 3:00pm kick off.
