U16s step up and show progression

4 years ago By Marc Massey

a number of youngsters play their part in decent performances .

No less than TEN members of the under 16 squad were invited to play up in age with the u 17s and u 18s this weekend .
Liam Godenho ,Tom Massey,Jay Watkinson ,Conor Willers and Alex Bessent played for the 17s at Romford , and Travelling to Bushey,Watford to take on Wingate&Finchley u18s were Azza Taylor , Ben Walker ,Lee Jacobs,Ben Wiseman and Jack Morgan .
Personally being part of the management team with th u18s i was pleased with the performances .The lads appeared comfortable with the step up in strength and pace and coped well .Ben Walker was excellent at centre back and Jack morgan looked dangerous and was unlucky not to score . But i9t would be fair to say they all did well . Mick Jacobs and Manager Mick Bacon were also pleased with their development .
i am told that the lads with the u17s also did well .Jay Watkinson scoring on his u17 debut .

This is what we have been working towards for a couple of years now , and the feeling between the managers and staff is one of boundless encouragement to help the lads and the club succeed .

We look forward to Thursdays development game when more oppotunities will be given .

Where next?
