TOUR NEWS Return of the Americans - Timperley UK July 2012!
WHAT? The return visit of our American friends; Maryland Express to Timperley following our tour this year.
WHEN? SAT 21st July 2012 to MON 30th July 2012
WHO? Open to all U16s / U14s boys & girls
HOW does it work?
- We need host families for up to 48 kids (got 44 need +2 more U16 Boys & +2 U14 Boys) + 7 Adult (got 7)chaperones / coaches during this time
- Events are planned for most days so drop off at TLC is required for your child + American you're hosting most days
- On the second weekend (Saturday) the host family plans a day out for your Amercian guest
Example itinerary:
Sat 21st: Arrival welcome party at TLC / pm with host family
Sun 22nd: Lax Matches (TLC vs MDX)
Mon 23rd: Event Day Combined TLC & USA - Outdoor Activity Day - team build
Tue 24th: 1st NW Lax Matches / Evening Manchester Meal & Ghost tour etc
Wed 25th: MDX Away Day (Blackpool / York) Host day off
Thur 26th: 2nd NW Lax Matches (Sheffield / Hathersage Outdoor Pool / BBQ)
Fri 27th 3rd NW Matches - am free pm - allows travel time for.....
Sat 28th: Host Family Day (Eg. Go Ape / Chester Day out / London Day out / North Wales / Lake District Liverpool)
Sun 29th: am free followed by final games 4th Matches vs TLC and farewell party & BBQ at TLC
Mon 30th: Depart 8.00am approx arriving back in USA pm (same day)
Fund raising - we will organise a number of fundraising events (bag packing / sponsorship / car boot / Xmas fair / cake sales etc) to help raise funds for the event and we need help & volunteers to do this. Please let us know if you can help (all host families are expected to help out!)
For all TLC players who participate in the tour, summer training (+ additional fitness training) is recommended - as it helps raise the skill and fitness standards so that we put up a good fight with the Amercians.
