Really proud of the boys today after a great showing against Tanglin U12's. After some good early pressure we were unlucky to concede a try against the turn of play, albeit a well worked move by Tanglin who were able to move the ball well to their wing to score in the corner. They missed the conversion and it was 5-0. We went back at them however and played some great rugby both from broken play and set pieces. The scrums looked solid and we were able to ruck them off the ball a few times resulting in our boys camping in their 22 for about 10 minutes but not quite having the support at the crucial times to score. Tanglin came back and scored a couple more tries before the break. In the past heads have dropped at half time with a deficit to make up but not this time. After some good forward play Felipe Kedia made a searing break running over half the field to score in the left corner. Tanglin were shell shocked and less then 5 minutes later after a great steal in the maul from Azyzul, Rian Hortin ran 50 yards down the right wing before arcing into to score under the posts. Captain Max duly converted and suddenly we had game on!. Unfortunately the searing heat and our lack of subs then started to take its toll and Tanglin were able to come back and close the game out 34-12.
A much better performance from our boys on the whole though and clear signs of the steady improvement they are making.
We have a home game next week so hopefully everyone can make it and we can push on further again.
Well done to Felipe who was deserved man of the match for seemingly being involved in everything from great tackles to taking high balls with style and his great try...
