There was no midweek fixture for the Angels this week - their fixture against Bognor Regis had to be postponed due to Bognor being involved in a FA Cup replay with Lewes.  However, there was plenty of action involving other Ryman Premier clubs.

Maidstone United were able to extend their lead at the top of the table to five points over Margate following a home 2-1 win against Harrow Borough. The  East Kent club were involved in a FA cup replay at Hartsdown Park against Folkestone Invicta which they won 3-1.  Hendon, whom the Angels face this Saturday at Longmead remain 3rd in the table following a home draw with new manager Alan Dowson's Hampton & Richmond Borough.  Dulwich Hamlet were also able to make up some ground and are now 4th in the table with a 3-0 win at struggling VCD Athletic.  Other league results were a welcome home win for Bury Town 2-1 against Billericay Town and a 1-1 draw between two clubs the Angels have beaten recently, Canvey Island and Leatherhead.

Turning back to FA Cup replays, there was a shock at East Preston where Peacehaven & Telscombe were dumped out 2-0 by the Sussex County Div 1 side.  The all Ryman Premier replay at Rookery Hill between East Thurrock United and AFC Hornchurch perhaps predictably could not be decided in open play and with a 2-2 scoreline after 120 minutes the match had to go to the dreaded penalty shoot out the home side scraping through 4-3.  The remaining matches went with league status, with Grays Athletic winning 4-2 at Harlow Town, and Metropolitan Police winning 3-0 at Imber Court against South Park while Wingate & Finchley faced with a tricky replay at Ipswich Wanderers did just enough to get through winning 4-3.. That replay for Bognor at Lewes ended up with the home side going through on a 1-0 scoreline.
