It turned out to be the Angels third successive 2-1 defeat in all competitions at East Thurrock United on Tuesday evening.  The goals came in a 12 minute spell just before half time with the Angels going behind just after the half hour mark.  Within five minutes, parity had been restored with a debut goal for Laurence Ball but frustratingly the visitors conceded again on the stroke of half time and in terms of scoring that was the way it stayed.  "I asked the players for a response following Saturdays disappointing exit from the FA Cup and to be fair they gave me that, but we simply can't go on conceding avoidable goals and changes may have to follow" said Tonbridge manager, Steve McKimm following the game."  He continued: "I need players to be able to sense danger and at times our defending was naïve."   The result leaves Tonbridge in 15th spot while East Thurrock move up to 12th.

All the top four, Maidstone United, Margate, Hendon and Dulwich Hamlet won their games but something of a shock occurred at Leiston where VCD Athletic took all the points with a stoppage time winner.  Another unlikely result occurred at the Beveree where Hampton and Richmond Borough, the Angels opponents this Saturday, were put to the sword by Leatherhead with a 5-1 scoreline.    Bognor Regis Town picked up a very useful three points at Harrow Borough winning 2-1 to ease their position in the lower half of the table.     A couple of local derbies saw Canvey Island overcome Grays Athletic 2-1 away, while in East Sussex, Lewes and Peacehaven fought out a 2-2 draw at the Dripping Pan.

In the FA Cup replays involving Ryman Premier sides, Kingstonian eventually overcame Ryman North Romford 5-3 but only after extra time while Enfield Town were unlucky to go out to hosts, Conference South Eastbourne Borough.  The match went to extra time and finished 4-4, but the dreaded penalty shoot out saw the home side edge through 4-3.
