Surrey Elite League

A challenging season for the first team in a tough league.

The season started dreadfully. We'd lost 6 or 7 keys players from last year’s campaign and the new side took time to gel. We were rock bottom at the start of winter, and struggling with the pace of the new league
Poor results led to Freddi Stroland being sacked as manager in November, to be replaced by Steven McNicholas and Pat Hill, and assisted by the injured AJ Degutis. Performances and morale picked up significantly when the management changed, eventually followed by results.

The run we went on from March onwards was very impressive, as we finally showed the league what we were all about with some excellent performances. The highlight of this was a 3-2 win over Epsom, for me the best team in the league, and who had thrashed us twice earlier in the season.
Although we lost a couple of games late in the season, and suffered a 3 point penalty which moved us back to 2nd bottom in the table, we avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth, and are looking to continue the good form into next season.
