Welcome to the Under 8 Zone
Welcome to the Under 8’s section.
Our squad are in their second season together with a handful of players in their third season. Equally, so have the coaches followed the team as they have developed. This has ensured that there is consistency as they further develop and enjoy the game.
The Under 8s are mainly based at the far end of the main pitch at Topsham RFC. We both train and play our home games there.
If the pitch is unplayable, we will generally relocate to the all-weather pitch at the Commando Training Centre, Lympstone for training and games. Please be aware that trainers with a good level of grip are most appropriate for this surface, boots definitely are not.
Players are reminded to wear appropriate kit at all times, this includes gum shields.
During the cold season, it is recommended that the players consider wearing appropriate under armour / rash vests to ensure they remain warm at all times. Gloves with grip are also an advantage during this time.
We are also looking to continue with mid-week training after last seasons success. This will be held at Lympstone Commando Centre on Wednesday nights. Watch this space for more information and confirmation of this.

The coaches may have been a little tougher on Sunday …the reason behind this was quite simple – if every member of the team is committed and concentrating the team as a whole will play better, and consequently the game becomes more enjoyable.
