Hard fought win for Totnes Bluebirds against Teignmouth Ladies.
A Fantastic evening of Ladies Rugby and a great atmosphere at Bitton Park. Teignmouth welcomed the Bluebirds to Bitton Park on Fri 3rd Nov for their first encounter under floodlights. Totnes Bluebirds dug deep to achieve 35-33.

Teignmouth had the kick off and wasted no time in putting Totnes straight under pressure. Some scrappy play by Totnes allowed Teignmouth to break through for a try and a successful conversion, putting them 7-0 ahead just 2 minutes into the game. Totnes responded with some good forward play to allow Jess Middleton to go over for her first try. Both teams took time to settle but some good handling from the Teignmouth backs brought another try.
Totnes gave away a couple of penalties including a high tackle on the line leading to a penalty try and conversion for Teignmouth putting them ahead 17-5. Totnes made some changes and bought on seasoned player Hannah Williams who quickly took command in the forwards and went through the Teignmouth defence for her first of 3 tries in the game. Captain Jennie Moss also bagged herself 2 tries. Emma Luscombe had to leave the field with an ankle injury and more changes for the Bluebirds.
Teignmouth were leading 26-25 when they broke through the Totnes defence again and converted to put them 33-25 ahead with 15 minutes to go. However Totnes regrouped and pulled together. They found their form and their improved fitness showed and came back with 2 more tries including a first try for Sami Attiwell. Final score from a very close match 33-35 to Totnes Bluebirds. Totnes players of the match were Felicity Dunn and Captain Jennie Moss.
