Narrow defeat at Moneyfields

Narrow defeat at Moneyfields image

An excellent performance by The Millers and a Jamie Feasey goal wasn't enough to defeat in form Moneyfields at Dover Rd.

Totton and Eling travelled to in form Moneyfields on Tuesday night and were very unlucky not to come away with a share of the spoils. T and E had a bare 11 for the game with a number of absentees. The game started at a quick pace with both goalies being forced into good saves within the first 5 minutes. The majority of the first half was played at the Moneyfields end with Totton producing a number of shots at goal but unable to find that killer finish. This was punished when an inswinging free kick was not dealt with and was flicked into the net by Hutchings. This sparked The Millers into life and they continued to dominate but without reward.
The 2nd half started much the same as the first with Totton passing the ball well and they were further aided when a moneyfields midfielder was sent off for violent conduct. Totton then dominated posession but were unable to find the goal that their play deserved. This proved costly when a lapse throw in allowed Hutchings to beat his man and finish well into the corner. Totton responded straight away and found the net when an inswinging Steve Green free kick was expertly guided into the bottom corner by Jamie Feasey. At this stage of the game it seemed as a case of when rather than if for Totton who came close, hitting the woodwork twice. The final 2 guilt edge chances fell to Totton but both were unable to find the net.
Another impressive performance but an inability to finish off good chances proved costly. T and E now face New Milton at home on friday night and will be looking to bounce back to winning ways.
