Club History & Information

Old Towcestrians Rugby Club was founded in 1933 by 'Old Boys' of Towcester Grammar School (now Sponne School Technology College). In the following summer Old Towcestrians Cricket Club was formed and included many members from the rugby club.

Towcester Hockey Club was formed in 1982, as part of the Towcestrians Sports Club, which also provides Rugby, Cricket and Tennis in the local community. Having started out with one ladies team, we now run three Saturday league ladies squads and have a comprehensive boys and girls junior setup for Under 8s, Under 10s, Under 12s and Under 14s. We are proud to be an England Hockey ClubMark approved club.

We are a very friendly and sociable club, with activities organised for the hockey section throughout the year. We also enjoy the benefits of being part of a large sports club, with a fantastic modern clubhouse able to accommodate whole club events.

We train every Thursday between 18.30 until 21.00 at Northampton High School, with sessions for juniors and individual teams. We welcome all ages and abilities to come along and give hockey a go. Over recent years we have welcomed many ‘ex-players’ back into hockey as well as encouraging some of our hockey parents to play whilst their kids train.
